About Me

I was born and raised in Birmingham, and have lived here all but 6 months where I resided in Orlando Florida working at the most magical place on earth. One of my first jobs was working at Cahaba Mountain Brook Animal Clinic (1991) where my love for animals and strive for helping them came to place.

Working there and seeing first hand Margaret’s amazing talents of training really convicted  me to learn more and become more involved with all aspects of dog training, from assisting her with training, going to dog shows with her, and taking her personal dogs through her classes.

One of my most cherished certificates is the very first one where I took her new Australian Sheppard puppy “Ashley” Through Classes. After working five wonderful years there, I moved on to explore the entertainment and retail management world.

After working in all aspects of both entertainment and retail management in 2011 I had the great opportunity and honor of coming back to Creative Dog Training as the Facilities Manager at the Homewood location. Where I strive to make a positive difference in every dog and owner everyday.

I have been married 9 years to my wife Kristin and we have a beautiful little girl (Madison) and a rough and tumble little boy (Parker) that keep us on our toes. I am also an avid sports fan, with college football being my favorite to watch (in which case I am a black sheep because I am a Penn State fan from Alabama.) When I have time, I also enjoy playing golf, pistol shooting, and wake-boarding.

My Pet

We have only one other addition to the family, and it’s our little dog “Nessie” (also known as “bark, bark” to my son Parker). Nessie is a 4 years old Havanese that shares the same birthday as one of my favorite holidays - St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th. Nessie is not only the perfect family dog, but she is also a great social/training dog for puppies that are just learning. Nessie also has one of the most important jobs in our house, and that’s getting my daughter to bed and asleep.

What I Love about CDT

Creative Dog Training exists to “Help Dogs Through Educating People” and make a difference in every dog, everyday. We train dogs through respect without losing the personality of the dog. We strive to always keep the dogs top priority.

Every day is a rewarding day being able not only see the difference but also know that you are making a impact on the dog if only by socialization. We focus our training based off not only what is best for the dogs but also striving to meet the owner’s goals as well.

About Me

I grew up in a small town named Epes, Alabama surrounded by my family cows and horses.  Growing up in that environment gave me an enormous respect and love of animals.
After graduating from high school I moved to Birmingham to attend UAB and study finance.  Although I had a passion for finance it was not where my heart was, instead I had an unyielding passion to work with dogs.
After securing a play staff position with Creative Dog Training in July 2005 I was able to begin a journey that has completely changed my life.

My Pets

I share my home with 1 dog, Diva, a 2-year old-Rottweiler.  I'm a true believer that all dogs are in our lives to teach us something about ourselves.  I have been blessed to own dogs that have taught me compassion, persistence, and maybe the most important patience.

Why I Love CDT

The reason I love being with Creative Dog Training is I am given the opportunity daily to exercise my passion for working with dogs and educating others on the craft of training dogs.  I am always in awe on how blessed I am to have realized my passion and have the opportunity to share it with others everyday.
